In defence of doing nothing this autumn
Somewhere along the way, doing nothing got a bit of a bad name. We track our sleep, count our steps, clear our inboxes and somehow even relaxing has become something to optimise, with another book to read, podcast to listen to or supposedly better way to spend the hour always waiting in the wings.
We think autumn is a good time to question all of that. As the nights draw in and home starts looking increasingly appealing, consider this a small invitation to do a little less and enjoy the fact that not every spare minute needs a purpose.

Sink into something comfortable, watch something you have already seen three times, make a cup of tea and actually drink it while it is still hot, or leave the washing for another half an hour without feeling the need to turn the moment into anything more useful.
Conveniently, bean bags are very good at this. They will not help you reach inbox zero or improve your morning routine, but they will mould around you, encourage you to stay put and make one episode turning into three feel entirely reasonable.
For us, that is what comfort is really about: not just how something feels, but the sense that, for a while, nothing is being asked of you. So this autumn, spend a little more time sinking, slouching, snoozing and generally achieving very little indeed.
Luckily, we've spent a lot of time perfecting a collection rather good for that.
